If there's no patents, then what's the problem with Sauber 'copying' Mclaren's wing concept? :)

I have no problem with it, it's not like they stole the raw data or anything, they just created their own version based on what they've managed to see on track etc...

The patent thing would basically kill f1!!

...and what Pedro has brought to them.

Not saying ped did any "spying" but he has admited he was aware of the system

I'm surprised another team has managed to get their own version working so quickly...

Frankly, i wonder why there hasnt been some sort of 'patent' rights to F1; its difficult to patent an idea though...

That would be absoloutely ridiculous!

yeah imagine that last year...on top of liegate, crashgate and ddd rule issue there would be lawsuits people copying each other.

Liegate?? that was no big deal.
Crashgate was terrible, and the DDD was just failure of the FIA to 1) be clear with rules and 2) act fast enough to have either banned or approved the thing before half a season

Liegate was a BIG deal. Of course not as massive as the crashgate scandal but purposely lying to race stewards to get another driver disqualified from the points (and podium) is as bad as crashing on purpose. Hamilton = lying, cheating bar steward.

Anyway... I guess that's why they signed De La Rosa. I couldn't figure out why the hell Sauber didn't keep Heidfeld and went with Pedro... but I suppose he knows the ins and outs of one of the best teams so...

He didnt cheat. He lied to retain what was his. His intention was not to disqualify another driver it was to retain what he won on the track. And he was told to do it by his team who had way more F1 experience than him. Does that make it right ? No. He knows that.

Ok.. the team cheated. It was purposely trying to get Trulli disqualified to regain that position. That can't be questioned.....

I wonder what else De La Rosa knows about McLaren he can share with Sauber....
#191690
I suppose he knows quite a lot. Which makes a farce of this spying lark.Moving personal will always take data.

I think it can be questioned. The intention was to reverse the places to what it should have been, not to screw Trulli. But thats what it did. It was a knee jerk reaction to try to correct a mistake the team made. A bad decision, but not a plan to screw Trulli.

He didnt cheat. He lied

Cheat:
1. To deceive by trickery; swindle
2. To mislead; fool

Lie:
1. Something meant to deceive or give a wrong impression.
2. A false statement deliberately presented as being true; a falsehood.

The main definition for both involves "decieve". Same..same but different.

Racechick Lewis should hire you as his PR manager...I would.
