I'm not big on keeping up with religion yet I do know that the Roman Catholic priest have been the center of all the perverted controversy. Geez even the 'dungeon' has an age requirement !!!

If I may please allow me to offer a fraction of what I see as the truth and my insight. IMHO it has ALOT to do with the vow of celibacy which imho contradicts every species need to procreate and numbs a basic need that was setforth by nature. Now as far as little boy's being victimized I would chance a guess that that is the major % of what the priest have access to and being males they have a greater chance/opportunity of manipulation ie the father figure?

As mentioned I'm just taking a shot at what I THINK is just one of the many factors involved.

I heard an interview on NPR a couple of years ago that a priest actually had an idea of purchasing a deserted island somewhere in the Caribbean to dump all of the clergy that had a history of child molestation and abuse. This was in the 1950's so it's nothing that's news to anyone that's had their eyes open.

Nevertheless, reports emerged last week that while he was archbishop of Munich in the 1980s, Ratzinger approved therapy for a priest suspected of molesting boys. The priest was then transferred to a job where he later abused more children. He was convicted in a criminal trial. The archdiocese has said Ratzinger's then vicar general took full responsibility for the transfer.
