What about the news breaking that Alonso has been using an illegal gear box for the last few races - one not available to Hamilton but which allows the car to use its power band more efficiently. It has been shown that this improved gearbox could make the car two tenths of a second quicker! So why has this gearbox not been made available to Hamilton?

I am not speaking about infraction or no, I say McLaren again saved this engine for the last race, this engine is not a modification... it is the new engine for 2008....English press only write about what you want read.

It is a new engine (not 2008s engine as far as I can tell), and the team can turn up the performance because it doesn't need to run over two Grand Prix. It is an advantage, but it's all completely fair, no rules have been broken.

That's what I thought it was Stephen - it was discussed a while ago. Though I wasn't sure about 'new rumors' about 'illegal' engines - hard to keep track these days...

My take on it and from what I heard or read was that FA will have the same engine as two week's ago and the 10hp advantage Lewis has is in FA's head because he could not keep up?

No, the 10hp advantage is real - they tweak the engine and run it hotter because it doesn't have to last past this weekend - Ferrari does the same.
