Has it ever happened that a team has scored a 1-2 in the first race and not won both championships?

Last year Brawn were 1-2, and won the constructors while Jenson won the championship.
In 2004, Ferrari started with a 1-2 and won both championships.
In 2000, Ferrari started with a 1-2 and won both championships.

I thought 1999 might be an exception, with Ferrari winning the constructors, but McLaren did not get a 1-2 in the first race.

1998, McLaren started with a 1-2 in the first race, and won both championships.
1996, Williams started with a 1-2, and won both championships.
1992, Williams started with a 1-2, and won both championships.

Are there any exceptions?

Hopefully 2010 will be no exception.

I believe the commentators mentioned that on the speed tv coverage here in the states, they said it was 16 out of 18 time if I recall.

Now now, no need to get personal. He's quite entitled to dislike a driver without it relating to Jenson Button and given that he hasn't singled out world champions like Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, I dare say his reasons are completely unrelated to who's better than who.

I'm not a Ferrari fan, or a fan of predictable seasons, so I sincerely hope history doesn't repeat itself on this occasion.

JV's pass on Schumi at Estoril that year could never be repeated with the modern cars, I never liked JV but that was one hell of a pass, I often like to try and replicate that move when racing on rFactor. :hehe:
