I was very impressed by the way Lotus performed today, I was not really a fan nor rooting for one of the other new teams this season. However, not only did Lotus finish both of their cars, they also managed to do better than Sauber in the reliability department.

At the end of the season, it may very well be Sir Richard wearing the Air Malaysia steward outfit.

Virgin showed pace in the Qualifying but lacked reliability for the race.

Lotus may of finished last but least they DNF

Track time is way more important than outright pace for the new teams right now - it's all valuable data gained for the big upgrade Lotus say is coming at Barcelona. They will gain a hell of a lot of pace with that.

I always thought Lotus would be the best of the new teams. They're professional, organized and committed. They look like they know what they're doing.

Virgin Racing has potential I think, but they had bad problems in pre-season testing so their DNF's aren't surprising.

Hispania racing on the other hand, they're a bit of a joke. They were 9-10 seconds of the pace yesterday in qualifying, and even 3-4 seconds behind the Virgins! I don't care if they're a new team, that's embarrassing and hurts the integrity of the sport.

Yep I was amazed too. They trailed only by one lap, I was expecting 3-4. I think it's good to have a reliable car and then start to develop different parts, much more consistent.

Aye, but they are in now and FIA won't kick them out, sadly.

James Allen seems to think he stopped on track so that they will not get a penalty for a gearbox change

I was kinda right then. I predicted on our live chat that just one Lotus car would finish. :D One prediction I finally got right.

I've said it before. Virgin look to be faster than Lotus, but unreliable. All bets would be on Lotus to take a points finish before Virgin can.

it was still classified as finishing thought, as it stopped on track after Alonso crossed the line
