How boring was Bahrain?

No refueling, no overtaking, no second guessing fuel loads, no pit tactics (limited pit tactics). Previous years we would always wonder what fuel loads drivers were on, 2 stops or 3 stops?? Now we just watch them run around burning a full tank of fuel.

Dull and boring.........I actually fell asleep!

I really hope something changes because this will be the biggest let down to what promised to be the most exciting season yet!

Please tell me this is a bad dream!

I never bought into that rubbish about it being a vintage season, the cars are now way too close and they only close by tenths a lap. I always keep harking on that they should go back to the old days and look at what made it good but sometimes a step backwards can let you go to steps forward.

Quite your moaning. You all sound like a bunch of old man complaining about Post Office.

You can't expect the first race to be the greatest thing you've watched. It was about the same as any other race we've at Bahrain.

Bahrain is a boring track. Vettel had some issues... in the end, the race could have been more interesting had the Ferraris and Lewis had to actually battle...... and the coming races should be more exciting too... the fellas from P4-8 will have to push harder to stay in the fight.

But yes...... BORING race, boring track. Melbourne will be better i think.

Hope it improves. I found myself agreeing with schumachers comments after the race :yikes: . (which pretty much said its boring and you cant ovetake-though not in so many words)

The rules won't really increase on track overtaking, we only get some when a driver has either ended up with the new teams and can breeze past them. Or when someone comes out of the pits on a fresh set against someone whose been on their tyres for a while.

A faster car is still being held up by one ahead that is slower. It just seems to be about qualifying, good start, and no problems then thats it.

This thread is a bit of an overreaction, some races are just boring and this was one of them. We had a potential scrap for the lead if it wasn't for Vettel's problem - Alonso obviously had the pace in his car to challenge! Plus the drivers were a bit too conservative on the tyres today.

Yep it was mildy exciting to see if Vettle could hold on as he slipped back and the Pit was abit exciting.

We'll see come Oz

I'm only going to compare at the Oz GP but Bahrain was really a snore fest other than a few interesting moments but nothing to make me sit forward in my chair. Lewis himself said that its really hard to follow a car, let alone overtake.

By the way, did anyone notice how during quali they werent showing the driver's track position graphic? It kinda took away from the excitement since I wouldnt know anyones position until the end of the race. I thought it was a massive fail.

I thought this was Formula 1 not the "Mobil economy run".You cannot race and at the same time economise on fuel. Who ever thought up the idea should be sacked. It would be so easy to, for example, make every team have two fuel stops and these stops do not include tyre changes. Economy driving wil never make good viewing. Maybe they should have points who can do the most laps once they have passed the finish line. BORING... BORING... BORING!

Race was a tad boring, but I rather enjoyed it. Still, it's the first race of the season, what can you expect? It's not going to be like Aussie '99 when Eddie Irvine won the race or Aussie 09 when Jenson Button won the race.

I'm afraid for the rest of the season as well.

Seems like aerodynamics has even become more of a problem. If we forget about the RBR's exhaust issue today, it seemed like SF couldn't even challenge the Red Bull. To see FA weave out of the slipstream of SV, desperately keeping the car "cool" - that's really not cool. :nono:
