Can anyone tell me whether this is true? Do drivers have an overtake button, and if so how does this work? Could this be applied to F1?

Think this is true, don't know the technology though. Can rule out superchargers and turbos though, think it's probably similiar to that fitted to the BAR Honda in F1, change of fuel mixture etc. Surely there is a limit to the number of times this function can be used during a race/season? :?:

It's a button which they can press which gives the car an extra 30BHP for as long as they stay full on the throttle. As soon as the throttle drops, the 30BHP is lost. IIRC, you can only use it 4 times in the sprint and 8 times in the feature race. I'm not sure exactly how this extra power is produced though....

I'm a fan of KERS and all that, however I'd like everyone to have it or no one to have it.

Wish granted. No one does have it anymore.
