Lets be honest here, Mercedes need to pull something out of the bag, they do not have the race pace or one lap speed of Red Bull/McLaren/Ferrari.

If I was to take a guess I would say they are about 0.3s of a second off the ultimate pace in Qualifying trim and maybe 0.5s a lap off the pace when full of fuel.

If anybody can make up the difference between whoever's at the top and however far Mercedes are behind, it'll be Schumacher. Rosberg will struggle to make Q3 and then blame the team/blame Schumacher for being too fast/moan that the car wasn't good enough and it's a strong midfield/complain about "visor problems"/say that the track didn't suit the car/moan that his last escort job the night before was a hermaphodite.

This is of course after Schumacher has denied Rosberg any access to his data whilst having open access to his. Ensured he gets all the updates a month ahead. Got a secret written code to swop places if Rosberg is ahead(its no longer legal to do it openly). Driven with illegal parts. Driven competition off the road.Parked illegally.Continued his love fest with Brawn...Oh and Todt(convenient). Yeah he should make up the difference :D:wink:

I find it hard to seriously believe they have such a massive ace up their sleeve all of a sudden, surely it wouldn't suddenly miraculously be fully completed within the last day or so, and so they would have actually tested it (or at least some parts) already just to check it works on the track? :scratchchin:

Exclusive! Leaked Picture of Mercades "Super Diffuser"

"It's just for cooling" :hehe:

But where are they going to find a dustbin lid that fits to cover it? :P

I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Hm, does the sly fox have another ace up his sleeves? I wouldn't put it past him. And if it's approved by the FIA, fair play to him.
To some of the critics that 'fear' another diffuser debacle with a run-away team like last year: don't you think it hypocritical to on the one side claim F1 is all about engineering, development, pinnacle, progress while bemoaning the iron-fist FIA regulations that allow for fewer and fewer parts of distinction and development, but then on the other side turn around and criticize a team that found a loophole to apply their engineering prowess in an innovative, dare I say revolutionary fashion?

Here here  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they're already in negotiations with Ferrari to swap FA for NR to make up that 0.5 seconds :hehe:

But then Rosberg will end up negating the effects of Alonso's six tenths. :P

If, and that is a big if, Mercedes have something up their sleeve, then their testing time could be unrealistic. As they're holding back their major innovation and not testing the whole package. That could easily cost them 0.3s in itself.
