That's why they should be free to choose which tyres they use and when. It would make the tyres a supply commodity just like other parts of the cars.

Control Tyre is necessary in today's climate of saving money. Besides if you have more money then you can simply buy a tyre supplier. E.g. Ferrari at the turn of the century.

I think the best driver duel this year has to be with Button and Webber in Abu Dhabi. Which may i point out was due to tyre wear. So, if this type of racing can be achieved on a regular bases due to the wearing patterns of different tyres then i totally agree on having more than one tyre supplier.
