Stealthgate007,
I shoot and carry a Kimber 1911 "Pro Carry 1" and it is a fantastic pistol. Mine is identical to the one in this video, hope you like it;

I am not a big one for pistols, but I would imagine the trigger pressure makes a big difference to the aim

Trigger pressure does play a part but a very small one if the pistol is held correctly.

I am always amazed at the double tap grouping some people do down the range with pistols. I get the first one on target and the next one way up to the left (firing left handed)

I'll try to explain this in a way so that you can visualize it and also practice without needing a pistol.

Holding the gun with your dominant hand (your left) place your right hand over your left in a cupping fashion while making sure both thumbs are relaxed. Now you do not want to fully extend your left arm but leave it slightly bent and while doing so apply forward pressure. Now with your right hand/arm, while keeping it slightly bent, pull back ie towards you so you have two opposing forces. What this does is counter act the recoil, the force applied after firing a shot that makes the barrel want to lift up and back. This way if you have a solid shooting stance and grip technique you will experience minimum recoil and the backwards pressure applied from your non shooting hand will bring the pistol back into an optimum firing angle.

Like Jack Bauer then..

Remember: The only reason you're conscious right now is because Jack Bauer doesn't want to carry you.

Nice... :thumbup: I actually shot a Kimber 1911 the last time I was at the range. Not sure what series it was, but it was solid and a looker at that. Mother of pearl grip, but very tasteful.. Very smooth action and great accuracy with three rounds..

I thought the grip safety would be cumbersome, but I didn't even notice it..

Hopefully I'll be purchasing one of these as a CCW/backup firearm once I'm employed: http://www.kimberamerica.com/products/p ... _carry_II/ .

I killed em at my LEO qualification and this is my target with 50 rounds at 5-10-15-25yrd's;

You'll need to do better than that to get your PSN headshot trophy.

How so as I dominated my entire class of 44 and I'm not quite sure what a PSN trophy is. All shots are made for center mass where all the vitals are located thus leading to a more debilitating shot, common sense amongst LEO's.

Here is a target I shot several months ago and I picked and choosed my head shots aswell as throat shots, all the 'off target' shoots were from a few fellow cadets I went to the range with, they sucked bigtime.

What do I shoot to? Mozart?

I don't care what you shoot to as long as you stay on topic :wink: .

The head's the only way to be sure when dealing with zombies.
