Jenson Fans write this time down!

1:19.583

You will use it next week.

Did you at any point over the last 4 days actually watch the testing or keep up to date with what was happening weather wise? Because with good solid dry weather and decent track temperatures the lap times set over the past 4 days will be smashed.

It's testing, it's not a competition kiddo. Also this:

Yes. I know the temperature will rise slightly and I know Hamilton is running first next week. I don't want to make it hard for Jenson by using the new time that Hamilton will set :hehe:

BTW the score is already 2 Hamilton; 0 Button.

Ever since Jenson asked "Is this Hamilton's team?" the competition had begun. Jenson Alexander Lyons Button very well knew what he was getting into.

...Hamilton's team I like how that sounds. That means Jenson works for Lewis.. :whip:

By the way its testing

the only we'll ever know definitively who is the better driver at a certain track is after qualifying and then after the race, and finally at the end of the season.

Lewis might win in Bahrain then Jenson might win in Oz, Lewis might take pole in Bahrain but Jenson wins though better race pace or tyre management or visa versa.

You should really read the test reports tho before being an annoying little troll and running your mouth off because if you had you'd of saw they brought Lewis in put 5 laps of fuel in the car then put brand new tyres on and sent him out.

I don't recall them doing that with Jenson.

I just want to repeat, Its testing! They're not actually competing for times there is no score as there is no competition. Or Shall I say Ferrari 3 McLaren 1? (facepalms again)

Didn't know about that, it would spark some interest in testing but I think it'd ruin what testing is actually about if it became a competition in itself.

Whilst I do think that Lewis is very likely a quicker, and definitely a more aggressive driver, this does not necessarily mean that he will always come out on top. We should not forget that it is common knowledge that Hamilton is harder on his tyres than most on the grid with his driving style, and tyres look likely to play a major part in strategy this season. So the question could be - will a tortoise or hare approach be more successful in the 2010 season? Of course I am not suggesting for a second that Jenson is slow, I'm thinking more along the lines of the comparison of Lewis / Jenson with Senna / Prost (not saying that they're comparable in terms of skill, but they certainly are in terms of driving styles!).

I suspect that the results and performances across the season as a whole will not be as clear cut in favour of Hamilton as many seem to be predicting. Personally I think it will be very nip and tuck, and would expect Hamilton to come out on top - but not by much...

Wait hold on, why are you comparing the Mclaren to the Ferrari? That has nothing to do with two drivers in the same car with similar testing programs. Not a wise analogy. :nono:

If you were an athlete; say you were Tyson Gay and you train with Usain Bolt. Bolt does his 100m runs in 9.95s average in training, and you do yours in 10.01s. What does this tell you? That should tell you that currently, YOU ARE OFF THE PACE. You now will try to train harder or change your technique to catch up because you know that if this guy is doing these times now what is going happen when he gets serious?! You see what I am saying? It is a competition in the minds of the athletes. Do you think Jenson and his engineer aren't watching Hamilton's times?

To do our comparison, we can cross out the possibility of fuel loads because ALL the cars do light fuel runs at some point. Qualifying is on near empty tanks so the driver must get used to driving the car to the limit at these weights. Whether each driver is at 98% or 96% during these low fuel stints we can still compare them. Check out Alonso and Massa's fastest times. You notice that there are only a few hundredths difference? Obviously there is some competition sparking up there. As I said we don't know the EXACT fuel loads each driver ran but more than likely those two were on low fuel when those times were set.

Right now Jenson is 1.xx seconds behind Lewis. Obviously we can sorta give some leeway to such a time, hopefully he was heavy, maybe medium load, different age of tyre, track temperature difference, but, he has two more days at Jerez and HE WILL DO A LIGHT FUEL RUN at some point and everybody at Mclaren (and us whether you want to deny it or not) will be watching his times. EVERYBODY! Jenson must show mclaren why he was the right choice; It won't look good if he is sandbagging in the tests.

The competition is definitely there.

You Jenson fans sound a little nervy so I will lower the heat, turn down the pressure you know. :hehe:

Wait HOLD ON are you comparing athletics to Formula 1?

What a stupid comparrison

There's no real varibles in Athletics is there think about it?

But comparing diffrent days - which means diffrent track temps, weather, track dampness, grip from ammount of rubber laid down, wind direction and even air temp etc.. then you got fuel loads 2 diffrent tyre types.

No if Lewis and Jenson were testing at the same time so Mclaren send Lewis and Jenson out with the same fuel load and tires and Lewis is faster then fine i could take your point.

You don't even know yourself if Jenson did the same fuel load run as Lewis your just speculating.

Whoah no you just look like an idiot your saying above that he's done a light fuel run but now your not sure.

lol?
