My only wish for this season is for Alonso to win the drivers title and Ferrari wins the constructors.

My second wish is for felipe to beat Alonso

I love how Felipe got the shakedown of the new Car and the first two days of testing but Alonso was faster than him within about 2 hours of him first stepping into the car. I think Felipe is going to get a lesson this year, I just hope Ferrari are smart enough not to insist on an equal driver policy once Fernando has established himself as number 1.

I think when the season starts it will dawn on some people that Alonso is in a Ferrari.

Yeah I agree, I think its silly to try and take meaning from these lap times so early on. It's also important to remember that Alonso jumped into a car that had already been setup, Massa started from scratch, even if their fuel loads were the same (which is not likely), Alonso would have a huge advantage anyway. In short, saying Alonso is the superior driver based on the limited testing we have seen is ridiculous.

Well, i'll put it very simple:

Alonso jumped into a car where 2 drivers last yr failed to come even remotely close to the other driver's lap times (including the team's main tester!). There has been no 'seat' issues, no 'getting used to the car' stuff.... Anyway you put it: Alonso has NAILED the F10. Regardless of whether or not he was lighter than Massa, or if he's trying to showboat or whatever..... He's nailed it. Maybe in the races or over the season he gets beaten by Massa, maybe the car is not really the fastest... who knows. But so far he's done his job. And very well.

I wouldn't normally draw any conclusions from testing tbh but i thought the immediacy with which Alonso eclipsed Massa best time of the previous two days at Valencia was quite remarkable. Massa will have got the car set up the first afternoon you have to assume, and while he may not have set his fastest lap on a low fuel run, it would seem unlikely that he had more than 20 laps of fuel in the car. Alonso was faster than Massa before lunchtime on his first day in the car, using Massa's setup and in fact his first Massa beating time came in the middle of 30 lap run, so with at least 15 laps of fuel onboard. He then proceded to go even faster in the afternoon, presumably once he had set up the car to his liking rather than Massa's

Well i'm liking this, that Alonso is doing well, coz I love him, although I do like Massa and I don't want people to think less of him if he gets whipped. (and I hope he does!)

I reckon Alonso looked very quick, and settled in really well - but I don't think its fair to say hes faster than Massa at the moment based on practice sessions - different conditions.

Badoer and Fisi. The car may not be exactly last yr's, and the drivers may not be top of the league... but its the only comparison we have. And being conservative, Alonso has done a very decent job. It doesnt matter if he's faster or not than Felipe, or if the F10 is really the fastest car (as Alonso placed it).

each day with more rubber on the track times are bound to come down. I wouldnt read anything what so ever into the Valencia times by Massa and Alonso to see who is faster.

I didn't after the events of 2007 no but you have to admire talent like Japan 2008 and some of his drives in 2009.

He's an amazing driver, Massa is good but he's abit like DC, good but not great.
