Alas with the demise of Colin Chapman - Peter Warr drove the lotus team into the ground. You remeber Peter dont you - he was the guy who said "Nigel Mansell will never win a race as long as I have a hole in my arse!"

Warr was an idiot, the only thing he did right was bringing in Ayrton Senna to Lotus for 1985, but then messed that one up by fiddling around with active suspension instead of working on a decent chassis despite using the powerful Honda engines in 1987. In my opinion the death of the Lotus team started when Chapman died, Senna just made sure the team stayed afloat briefly until it began to sink and then floundered in 1994.

I miss this team greatly... what I'd give to see a Lotus back on the grid, along with Brabham or Tyrrell or the all patriotic, French Government backed Ligier team.
