I'm not in the habit of quoting NM, but this one I think hits the nail on the head (and ultimately it's RD who's in charge, ain't that the truth?):

Referring to Alonso's bitter pairing with rookie Lewis Hamilton, Mansell said: "It is an internal problem with the team who have demonstrated to the world that they have not managed their drivers very well."

I'm afraid there isn't really an argument against that.

While neither FA or LH have done anything to cover themselves in glory during this spat, the team have come across looking worst.

I fear for them next season, with or without Alonso. Their penalty will cripple them if they don't get their act together.

:D That was the whole idea of the penalty  They were just too good. Kept spoiling the plan and winning

It's true.

No I think the whole idea of the penalty was to punish the guilty party. (No need to elaborate, it has been talked about many times before & we will never agree) :?:

And I don’t think I would call this "just being too good"

I would call it being more consistent.(not to mention but I will, a little help from a friend  )

And when you look at it closely McLaren have just been better at being second best.
And Hamilton has just been better at also being second best.

:lol::lol:

Not managing your team very well is not against the rules and regulations of F1 and is, therefore, not a punishable offence. In fact it has nothing to do with anyone outside the team, so what's your point?

So you dont listen to him unless what he says fits your view?

Mansell really is talking s*** on this occasion. The problem is simple, Dennis supplies equal equipment - and when you get ego's as big as Alonso's matched with confidence (and maybe arrogance) of Hamilton, sparks will always fly.

This was not a problem at Renault, because Flavio pandered Alonso's EGO and never much of a problem at Ferrari because they overtly use team orders to placate their prima donnas, with the FIA’s backing it seems

So go ahead, give Dennis crap for trying to give is a classic season with much dueling - and as you do so, remember 2004 and what Ferrari gave us in the way of fair racing and excitement when they were dominant.

Artie, since when do we talk just about punishable things on here? Oh, I forget you're a McLaren fan and have become used to constantly trying to defend the dubious actions of your team - relax man, not every post of mine is legal attack :D

And yes Ronnie, I have my own discriminating brain - I don't worship and follow somebody like a sheep. Sometimes even RD makes a good comment and I give him credit - it's just not too often same as NM.

They couldnt manage Senna and Prost either.

I see truth in that statement but also think that once those two were on the track together all team rule's were left in the pit's.
