Gonna get one of these in the new year, just wondering if anyone has one or has experience with them because of the whole rotary engine thing.

I know someone who has an RX7 (similar engine) and i don't think they ever had any trouble with that. Certainly nothing major.

Generally speaking, rotaries are reliable and pretty economic, but you have to really rev them to get the power (sorry if i'm stating the obvious). However i've read that the RX8 engine drinks like a mother, mpg in the mid 20's, if that...

Good choice of car though :)

I agree with everything you said, I would luv to drive an RX8. A friend of mine had the 1st gen RX7 and that car was a blast to drive.

yeah i heard they improved the Engine with the newer R8X so if the RX7's are good then its all fine.

Only thing i'm bothered about is has the previous owner (since i'm buying 2nd hand) kept the oil topped up..

I hope your gonna have the RX8 fully inspected by a mechanic before you sign on the dotted line, ie a PPI.

well i've only given it a breif test drive (i collect it tuesday after its been servied, MOT'ed and valeted) - so i didn't really want to drive it like a muppet becuase it wasn't my car and i was trying to part ex my focus so if i drove like a muppet he'd think i drove the focus like that.

but the breaks, gearbox and acceleration was fantastic it was quicker than my focus using only 4k rev's and the real power comes in around 7-8k it can rev all the way up to 9k.
