depends on the pecking order of the cars. so who knows at this stage. i think he will definitely out perform Rosberg though.

The Brawn was the best car for aero, thanks to Honda's work, at the beginning of the year, and had maybe the best engine, and suffered a lack of money for development and fell backward for the last half. Now it's all that plus big mercedes money. They have the potential to possibly be the best car and engine package again, given a couple races to shake it down proper. MS could win alot of races in it. However we never know what the other teams are doing and how they all fare relative to one another. Ferrari and McLaren could develop something amazing. Or they could produce dogs. So could mercedes. You never know.

Wouldn't you say that there are really small odds that McLaren and Ferrari have both bad cars next year? They started developing early last season and have a lot of money, McLaren also showed their competitiveness later in the season.

yes I would say it's small odds even though they both had dogs for the beginning of '09. I would also say that Renault caught a lucky break and capitalized when for 2005 Ferrari had an unexpected sudden slump and McLaren had yet to fully pull themselves out of theirs.
Mercedes' chances are good based on their money and the remnant of Honda's development but you're right, Ferrari and Mclaren won't sit and let someone else leapfrog them.

It was a statistical probability in the 90s too, but DC won the first race of 97(and the pundits made mention of the stat) and that went out the window.
In 2005, Fisi won the first race.
