McLaren obviously are not going to trade for Fisichella. If they want Alonso then it's Kovalainen + cash as far I can see.

Yes thats what i think too

Renault seems to be in the lead for getting FA's services with the news about a pre-nup already inked.
Now the haggling will begin about the divorce from McLaren - dunno about any custody issues there. I think Toyota is just brought in by FA to make Renault jealous and improve his dowry - 5 goats and three camels and maybe a few chickens for good measure, anything higher would be usury.

mclaren were a struggling team last year. Alonso went there, when we all thought it was a bad move, and made them into championship winners.

Two years with an option for 2009. But who really cares about contracts written on paper these days?

I'm sure that McLaren now realise that it was a bad move Headless. A very bad move!!

I wouldn't say they were stuggling if Raikonnen came second in the '05 championship.

I can't tell if the reports of the Renault intent signing is true. He developed the McLaren into a winner and LH benefitted from that, Maranello helping or not(any Ferrari input helped LH just as much). He can do the same at Toyota. If it's true they want him then I would go there. However Ron does not have to let him go. He can pay Alonso full salary and make him be tester for the year. He won't though. He knows Alonso will still try to get the title even if he is unhappy working there. Don't get me wrong, I'm' not a big Alonso fan and I don't have anything against Hamilton, Just trying to be objective.
