Indeed, what you say is all well and good until you factor in Alonso's attitude. He has acted like a hermit at McLaren from day one and last year accused his beloved Renault of not supporting his bid to win the title.

Junior Series Lewis beat Vettel, and before you start jump up and down all car in Formula Three Euroseries are equal.

Formula Three Euroseries

In 2005 he drove for ASL Mucke Motorsport in the Formula Three Euroseries. He was placed fifth in the final standings with 64 points, winning the year's top rookie honours. He did not win any races, but this was largely due to the championship's domination by Lewis Hamilton. (All cars are equal)

This guy is amazing and he's only 20 years old. In japan he managed to be in 3rd and if it weren't for LH stupid move :x he could have finished on the podium. And today, he finished in 4th position and he's driving a lesser car than LH. If Vettel were at McL, I won't be surprised to see him winning more than Lewis. This might prove the point that besides from LH's excellent driving skills, he's also lucky to be driving for McL and it's this factor that pushed him to the top  . I have more appreciation for a driver who can push beyond the limits of his car and prove himself than just enjoy the fruits of being in a top car. So who's really the phenomenon or the fresh air in here, Hamilton or Vettel!

PS: to all the LH fans, if you can't take criticism of your driver than seek help. You've been ridiculing FA left and right but that's ok and when someone makes a joke about LH you want him banned. If you can't take a joke than that's your problem. And no, I'm not a great fan of FA. I would love to see Kubica, Nick and Vettel competing for the WDC next year.

2005 season

Main article: 2005 Formula Three Euroseries season
ASM and Mercedes further improved on their performances of the previous season. The championship was dominated by Britain's Lewis Hamilton, who had been a protégé of the McLaren-Mercedes Formula One team. He achieved a record-setting 15 race wins from 20 starts, thirteen pole positions and ten fastest laps. Hamilton graduated to GP2, winning that championship in his rookie year, and now holds an enviable position as a Formula One driver with McLaren. Also competing in 2005 was Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Sebastian Vettel, who finished the season as the highest-placed rookie. ( All Cars are equal)

Thanks for the extra info. I never denied LH talent and you can read my other posts for proof. What I was pointing out is that because Vettel drives a lower car he has to get the best out of himself and the car to get good results while for LH just by applying his skills is almost enough because the car is reliable and when pushed can perform well.

I think it is futile to compare these two young men this year, their situations are too diverse. Hamilton undoubtabley has the best car,he also has considerabley more pressure(leading championship, fighting for race wins, politics and media) On the whole he has coped better than one would expect for a rookie with this pressure. Vettel is largely unpressured and can only impress. The one time he was under pressure he made an error.
In previous formulae and in equal equipment hamilton was convincingly the better driver. He is also more experienced.
One can only guess at how these two would perform this year under equal conditions but evidence suggests that Hamilton would be better.

^^ yes you're right. The ultimate goal is to win the Constructor / driver 's championship, but the whole team harmony side is part of the big picture anyways. So it revolves to being his job... should he accept a certain driver's conduct or should the team take a certain approach to win the championships is his issue because the fans and the media will always be partial.

I agree, blackmail is not good for team harmony

crying to the media that youre getting inferior equipment is not good for team harmony
