After a crappy 2008 (one of those years where a variety of relatives either lose jobs, are diagnosed with some sort of terminal illness or actually die), I actually had a great 2009! Didn't really think about everything that's happened over the past year as a whole until reading this thread so thanks for that!
Some of the highs:
1. Brother and Wife had a daughter, making me an uncle for the first time.
2. Managed to finally gain a full time lecturing position at my university after three years in an associate lecturer's role.
3. Was made an associate fellow of the higher education academy.
4. Booked almost everything for my wedding next year.
5. Had my final birthday in my 20's. (or is that a low??)
6. Was asked to be best man at my friend's wedding.
7. The economic downturn and subsequent drop in interest rates actually worked hugely in my favour resulting in my mortgage payments being cut in half, meaning I've been able to both save more and pay more off!
8. I had a good season playing with my football team - got to the finals of and finished runners up (but not winning either of
) in two cup tournaments, the finals of both of which were played at a local SPL stadium, and I actually scored in both finals.
9. My uncle managed to get custody of his grandchild from my evil (and I'm not exaggerating) cousin after a lengthy legal battle that had my little second cousin staying in foster care for over a year thanks to my bitch of a relative.
10. I got a new shiny 37" tv mid-way through the F1 season making that viewing experience all the better!!
Favourite racing series: F1, Indycar, NASCAR, GP2, F3, Formula E, Trophee Andros, DTM, WTCC, BTCC, World Endurance... etc. etc.
It looks very long, it is sometimes hard to maneuver?
