Well they blew the constructors sadly.

Nice try, Ewan, to wind me up. I shall not rise to your bait. Suffice to say, anybody with a cell of grey matter and the most basic of morals knows McLaren won the 1999 constructors' title.

Sometimes it works both ways. Take Piquet's exotic fuel in 1983

That was a disgrace as well. However, what really undone Prost and Renault was the turbocharger failing.

Ah for you see, Renault were also given plenty of help from the governing body. So I suppose the constructors had to find ways to "fight back" in 1983.
