Hi! I'm fairly new here, too. I've been a member for 4 days. 8-)
I'm from the United States.
I'm a pretty new fan, too. I've been a fan since the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix and I am slowly figuring out everything with F1. Yes, Formula 1 is much more exciting -and, frankly, much classier- than NASCAR. Also here in America, F1 does not get as much coverage as NASCAR, because almost everyone who is a "racing fan" likes NASCAR more than F1 (and obviously because NASCAR is in our country). We (my dad and I) rely on SPEED for Formula 1 news. We get the BBC but I'm not sure if our BBC covers Formula 1. Hopefully it does; I'll have to check into that. I would rather listen to that than American announcers.
My favorite driver is Jaime Alguersuari, even though he isn't a 2010 driver yet :)

We also get SPEED in Canada. Compared to BBC, the SPEED coverage flat out sucks. I actually can't stand it. I'm sure you'll be able to find a live feed on the internet of the BBC coverage on race day though.

Hopefully I can... :(

If you use a proxy based in the uk I think you can get access to the bbc live online, someone more techy will be able to help you out more.

Would that cost money?

There are free ones out there, but I suppose a proper one would cost money.
Think free ones may not hide themselves as proxies and the bbc are almost guaranteed to block you.

This looks interesting: http://www.daveproxy.co.uk/

Although they had to remove the iplayer since it was using too much bandwith, but f1 live isn't watched though the iplayer. You might want to try using that and watching little clips not on the iplayer but on the bbc site to see if it works.

Gah, I guess I'll just have to stick with SPEED for now. Hopefully the BBC has a live feed of the race on their website or something.

That's because they are F1 commentators, of course they know more than the average fan such as myself!

All I'm saying is, I've watched a race both on BBC and on SPEED. In almost every area, BBC >>>>>>>>> SPEED.

I've watched German, Austrian and Swiss broadcasts and they were all appallingly inferior to Speed.
