If Schumacher deal falls through, who else is left for Brawn/Merc?

Quick Nick?

I think he's a Sauber driver.

If it's not Schumi, it'll have to be a rookie.

I think Brawn may look at some of the Young Drivers who tested last month, if he can't get Schumacher.

Obviously Hulkenberg and Ricciardo are out of the mix.

Either that or sign someone from GP2, or he could go for someone British.

Or he's got a choice of:

Algusuari
Piquet
Sato
Kobayashi
Grosjaen
Bourdais
Nakajima

If he wants someone who's been behind the wheel.

Umm... Mika Hakkinen? :)

Ross Brawn did not slip up. I believe the deal to buy Brawn from Mercedes included changing the name to Mercedes GP and a German driver line up. Brawn very quickly got rid of Barrichello and signed Rosberg (why?).The problem then how to get rid of Button who is World Champion, simple offer him a poor pay deal Jenson walks hello Michael Schumacher who had been talking to Brawn well before Button became World Champion. No Ross Brawn did not slip up.

Racechick could not have seen as far as what has developed. Non of us could, or we would have exposed the plot. I do believe that hindsight is 20/20 and we could deduce these things from hints we saw. Di Montezemollo pushing very hard for a third car because now we know that Michael wanted to race, and he had already contracted Alonso and Massa.

Ross saw an opportunity. How far back he saw it and if he had orchestrated a massive, sophisticated, master plan, full of contengencies and then executed it to perfection.. or if it was dumb luck, we may never know. I hope he writes his memoirs on this part of his life.

I do believe he has a crystal ball and uses black magic.
