There's just something so wrong about seeing a man punch a woman, I'd like to think he was aiming at the man but even that isn't acceptable behaviour. What a prick.

No. he was aiming in the midle of her chin....in other words: He tried to kill her and he almost succeed.
But hey...if some guy flerts my girl, I warn him and he still asks for a punch...who am I to say that a punch is not well deserved. it would be kinda acceptable.
I'm not the kind of person who is quarrelsome. it´s quite the opposite actually.
but there are situations that I think I wouldn't control myself.
Fortunately, I've never been in a situation like that =D

I'd consider it more acceptable for him to hit the man if he'd given him a warning to back off, there's no need to use violence as a first resort. At least try to control the situation in a non aggressive way first.

I do not see gender if I get threatened. I am a big bloke (5'10 120kg) and if someone decides to start on me for no reason then there is 2 reasons for it.

1, they are drunk/under the influence and would not feel it if I did hit them.
2, they are hard as f*ck

either way I do not want to fight them.

Same here If this guy had done the same here in the streets and the police haven't been in the right place at the right time he would have some (physical) issues.

Equal rights dont work in this situation.
Women want equal rights on activities that they have the same capabilities men have.
Strength is not one of them.

Actually, it isn't.
In both cases the aggressor would go to the jail.
Thing is: men hiiting women is revolting because a woman just has no chance against a man(I mean, average man/woman, of course!)

Thats right. Both is wrong. To hit anyone is wrong but to hit someone less able to defend themselves is worse.
