Ferrari announced that it has concluded a 'technological collaboration' with the A1GP series to supply engines from next season. In addition, the Italian manufacturer will consult on he design and manufacture of next A1 chassis. Zytek Engineering currently build and service the 3.4 litre V8 engines.

"Partnering with a world-class organisation like Ferrari will officially position A1GP one of the most significant motorsport series’ in the world," stated A1GP Chairman Tony Teixeira. "Ferrari will bring immense value to our brand and in our opinion there is no better partner to progress the series. We will be meeting with our commercial partners over the next few weeks to discuss the opportunities this partnership presents."

The partnership with Ferrari extends to an exclusive licensing agreement for all A1GP merchandise to use the Ferrari name and phrase ‘Powered by Ferrari’ from January 2008.

Are they counting on some synergy effects?

There are also rumors that Ferrari might want to take STR under its wings as a B-team.

That deal will make A1GP a class act I feel. Step it up a gear.

...And STR as Ferraris B-Team, the way STR have improved...not too shabby either.

Well, if they (STR) can keep SV for another season, he might then move over to big momma and scare the living daylight out of KR as the new Rainmeister and heir apparent to MS's F1 crown...

Think, because Ferrari is now associated with A1 GP, they might start picking up future drivers from there.
Hmm, maybe Adam Carroll

Nico Hulkenburg. He's been tipped as the next Michael Schumacher. His manager is Willi Weber, who was also Schumacher's manager. He's also pretty darn fast, but you already knew that. :D

Yup, heard a lot good things about Nico Hülkenberg - hope he won't make it too soon to F1 or we'll have 2 NH and 2 Nicos :)

Hulkenberg dominated A1GP last year and has apparently Weber has been pestering Flavio to give him a test drive. If Alonso goes back to Renault next year and Renault keep Kovvy, Piquet will want out and that could free up the test driver role for Hulkenberg who then could also go on to GP2 at the same time.
