Um sorry the more correct English is British English as it is where it comes from, so soccer is still in reality an invalid word unless the Brits decide to call it soccer all of a sudden instead of football. Also the governing body of football in Australia, is called "Football Federation Australia". Used to be called soccer but I guess they have now corrected their previous error.. Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. And the A-League, which I still follow (Despite the quality being worse than Italian Serie C2) is referred to as football and not soccer by the federation in Australia. It was called soccer in the older league the NSL (National Soccer League) but once again the error was corrected when the A-League was created. Oh and I do remember when I lived there, when watching SBS, they always called it football, and they were all Australians who spoek on that channel. Well most of them anyway.

I found that when I was there it was subject to opinion. Some Aussies called it soccer and some (although a lot less so this I will concede) called it football. In the end your opinion is biased Bud as you are one of those redneck Aussies.
