F1 FACT: The USA gets no respect from anyone outside of the USA.

How is that an F1 fact?

I took a shot :hehe: but to me it is a fact of F1.

F1 FACT: The USA gets no respect from anyone outside of the USA.

FACT - the USA does not seek to earn respect from anyone outside of the USA, and therefore should not be surprised when it doesn't receive it.

Thats a very narrow minded outlook but I can respect your opinion  .
Now that we are discussing the 'seeking of respect' how do you think we american's should take the constant drivel of "They only know how to turn left", is that in any way, shape or form a showing of respect?? You get what you give.

The thing is that American media really doesn't put out a good image of itself on the world stage, so unless you actually come to America to experience it for yourself and some of the assumptions are actually true, drive through everything, no-one walks (at least here in Kansas) and the propagation of thin being beautiful, seriously size 8/10 being classed as plus size. And the lack of exposure of some Americans (maybe it's limited to Kansans?), some people think that UK stands for Ukraine.

And the only turning left thing is said in jest by most and in the midwest; people really haven't heard of F1; it's NASCAR crazy country.

Well, you chose quite a 'dense' patch of land in the US, so don't draw conclusions too quickly

Tom Pryce was an exceptional talent. I didn't realise he was the only Welsh F1 driver, he could have gone very far in F1.

Yep, the only one. Such a Tragic death!

Have you seen the crash? It's very gruesome to say the least...

well Nascar is the biggest motorsport in the US so it's a fact the NASCAR fans like watching cars turn left so until a series where circuit racing is the most popular form you can expect the ribbing about turning left to continue

Not for the squeamish - this is one of the few videos that doesn't block out the marshall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFvGJnrCI3w&feature=fvw. :( Ace music, though...

The most important team in F1, the mostb successful, the one with all the glory and the team that counts most is from my country.

FERRARI

ferrari is a slovenian team? or wtf

No Ferrari is Italian and so was I last time I checked my citizenship status. Actually I am dual citizen (I am sure you can guess what the other one is). But hey in my whole life time I think I have lived for less than 2 years in Slovenija, 18 years in Italy and 4 in Australia. So I don't have to justify which one out of the 2 really counts and is all that matters. It is very much like Ferrari is all that matters in F1.

This is the crash I though of when I saw the Massa/spring impact. However getting hit in the face by a fire extinguisher would hurt slightly more

We have the highest teenage birth and abortion rates in Europe

I never read it was an F1 fact!

if the usa getting no respect in f1 is what makes it an f1 fact. Well as far as I'm aware the usa has very little involvement in f1 so what are we supposed to respect the nation for. Also most respect tends to go to drivers, teams etc not to the whole damn country.

There are some parts (I forget which ones, but it has been mentioned on Speed) that are used by ALL F1 teams and are manufactured exclusively in the US.

err - some parts of what? Do u mean some parts of the usa where all teams get parts from?

at any rate, cool, but i still stand my point that I will not generalise my respect (to include all of the usa) nor do I belive it should be done so

Parts that are used by ALL F1 teams, parts as in 'you need it to build your car'! I guess it's an Americanism?

What do you mean by 'stand my point that I will generalise my respect'?
