looks crap thats only because youre a playstation boy whose epitome of a Skyline is an R34 :P but it has the same chassis and engine as the z but performs better because it is lighter.

nah i just don't think it looks nice.

The R34 isn't that great either :P

I do actually quite like Nissans as a general rule but they have no pedigree when compared with Renault. They also fall into the same category as Toyota in that they were started in order to make money for an industrialist or two, rather than out of automotive passion.

Renault's Formula One future has looked shaky for a while, so this news is not that surprising. However, I thought they were willing to continue with 2010 with their usual policy of reviewing the matter annually being in place.

If the Renault brand doesn't want to compete in F1 anymore, could they enter as Nissan?

:vomit:

whats wrong with Nissan? youre not a fan of alot of things huhhh

:hehe: yeh, i've got my grudges. They are another one of those faceless, identity free, mining-cum-car making company. Whereas Renault are one of the most illustrious names in car history. They took part in the first ever grands prix.

Who cares if Nissan didn't participate in the first ever grand prix. They sell a car for 70 grand that outperforms cars double its price (many of which are from "the most illustrious names in car history"), and they make solid sports cars. Thats all the pedigree I need!!

Skoda started making cars in 1905 and trace their lineage back to one of the very first production motorcycles, built on the principle of improving the stability of early efforts by other bicycle manufacturers. Vauxhall, although now one of the least prestigious names in the car world, based their pre-war reputation on their considerable motorsport success. Vauxhall has been synonymous with motorsport success throughout it's history. I would argue that both Skoda and Vauxhall names have as much if not more relevant pedigree with regards to naming an F1 entry.

Nissan F1.... that's got as much pedigree as SkodaGP or VauxhallF1

and an energy drink F1 has more pedigree too???

yup  tbh, Nissan F1 would be no worse than some of the other entries there have been over the years. It wouldn't exactly be the jewel in the F1 crown but at least they make fast cars. my point was that replacing the Renault name with Nissan would be awful. It would be akin to replacing the Mercedes name in F1 with Smart.

seems you only like European brands here. Look up the history of the GT-R in group A racing and tell me again Nissan has no racing pedigree.

I know that Nissan have won some races in some categories but none whatsoever in Grand Prix racing, whereas Renault are one of the most illustrious names in the history of grand Prix racing with numerous innovations, race wins and championship wins to their name. To replace the Renault team name with Nissan would be a joke.

seems to me youre belittling any achievements other than that done n F1. The R32 GT-R was very innovative and really blew away the field in the Group A category.

yup but we are talking about a Grand Prix team here...
