Me too. I watched it on BBC2 when it first aired in 2001 and then promptly bought the DVD (after forcing the rest of the family to give it a go). I just can't believe it was that long ago, I remember being fairly young at the time but 8 years?!
Mind you, I've had my moneys worth, it never goes too long without a rewatch.
Yeah I was like 11 when BoB came out, although I didnt see it until The History channel aired it in like '03. The History channel still show's it once a year and I'll watch it until I get fed up with the commercials and just finish the series with my box set. The documentary on the bonus disk about the veteran's is pretty good too.
Yeah that documentary's great, as are the little snippets you get at the beginning of each episode. I quite like the other special features too, the boot camp diary by Ron Livingston, the making of etc. The one I don't get is the commercial for jeep I thought that was very odd.
It's quite strange when you see the extra features and realise how many of the actors are British. I knew about Damien Lewis and some of the other, more famous, actors but there really are tonnes of Brits in it. Apparently, due to filming in the UK, they had to use a certain proportion for legal reasons. It doesn't detract from it anyway, the acting is spot on by everyone.
