they are pretty bullish on next years car. I like it! 8-)

I seem to remember Ned Flanders saying BMW were going to fight for the 2009 championship and look at what happened... :(

That said, I have no doubt that McLaren will be very strong next season. Should be good to have more teams up at the front of the field.

Two words: rules regulations.

Next season isn't anything near as complicated as this year was

Au contraire mon ami, au contraire! The refueling ban will have major ramifications for the entire chassis, and also for the engine (lean mix, e.g.) - the drivers will be separated by their racing skills and tire management rather than by the raw speed/times.

I expect McLaren to be better next season but I believe Martin Whitmarsh's comments may come back to bite him on the arse. I would like to see McLaren up there with Ferrari, Brawn, Red Bull and hopefully Williams. I expect Jenson to be up there with his smooth driving style preserving tyres as DD pointed out above!

Yeah, also i would expect 1 stopping in races to become the norm judging by the tyre characteristics this season - can't see many drivers thinking they'll be able to make up an entire pitstop through pushing the tyres alone (ie, without the added benefit of a low fuel load), so if a driver does knacker up his tyres he'll be put in a compromising position of having to struggle around on the worn tyres, or making the extra stop. Of course, that's just how it seems it'll work on paper...

Na back in August they were saying the same about the MP4-25 when i toured the factory. they are very excited with what they have in store. I like their attitude its new for them.

But it all depends on what the other teams come up with... McLaren maybe confident now but they also don't know what the other teams have up their sleeves.

The first indicators will be when testing resumes after the new year.

and after 40 years on the grid i am sure the guys at McLaren are aware of that fact.
