pfff sorry for speaking English English :whip::twisted:

Well, it's their official name, so in this case you should switch to American English - I know, I know, that's hard for ya, but it'll be good for your soul :hehe:

Edit: Ah, I see you changed your post...

:hehe:

For my first post on this thread I'd first like to say Good Riddance.

Tell me, why do they have to put a small B next to all the constructors on the WCC table. Wikipedia do it. Like, thanks for, like pointing it out, but duh! (See - this is like, American English :D )

Like, think about it. Having multiple (tyre X)tire manufacturers would be HOT!

:hehe:

Is it just me thinking this....eleven days after Jean Todt is elected FIA president, F1 will become embroiled in another tire controversy. What would be your opinion if Pirelli became exclusive supplier of F1 tires.

I would think it a better option than some suppliers I could imagine.

It would be good in my opinion to have a major tyre supplier with a racing pedigree. But, the FIA is likely to tender out the tyre supply contract, and a company likely to subsidise the cost of the tyres will most likely win. So, it'll probably be a company with a low profile manufacturer who wants the publicity.

The Akron Beacon Journal:

Michelin isn't interested in re-entering Formula One -- also known as F1 -- racing, a spokeswoman for the company's North American headquarters said Monday. The French tire maker stopped making tires for Formula One racing in 2006.

And Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., which makes NASCAR race tires at its sole remaining Akron tire factory, sounds lukewarm about getting back into the market.

''We have no plans to re-enter F1," Goodyear spokesman Ed Markey said. "However, we continually evaluate a wide range of opportunities to determine the best fit for our strategic direction and make decisions based on the best interests of the company."

Goodyear stopped supplying tires for Formula One at the end of the 1998 season after 33 years with the sport.

Bridgestone's decision to leave Formula One racing will not affect its race tire operations in Akron, according to a union spokesman.

More than 140 members of Steelworkers Local 7 make Indy-style race tires in part of Bridgestone Americas' technical center complex in Akron.

Bridgestone's Formula One tires are made in Japan.

Other news reports said Italian tire maker Pirelli was unlikely to be interested in returning to Formula One racing.

maybe we'll see Avon in F1 again?!

I'm glad to see the back of Bridgestone and their stupid two tire compound rule demands, silly green (instead of white!) stripe and green credential hypocrisy.

I do suggest you call the tv station and tell Honda that they should have stuck it out another year with a better motor.

This is really quite surprising. With Formula One using a control tyre, I can't imagine it costs Bridgestone that much to be a tyre supplier. And what's making the news potentially a lot worse is that no other top tyre manufacturer wants to become involved in Formula One. It looks like the sport could be using Kumho tyres or something if things don't change.

Unless BE opens his deep pockets and makes a cost-neutral proposition to Goodyear or Michelin...
