But if you had to choose between Lewis getting 2nd or first (a difference of 2 points) of Heikki coming 10th or 4th so the team would score more points, which would you choose?

They weren't really in that situation this year though. Even so, I'd take the win because Lewis is more reliable. I'd trust him to bring home the win (although granted it doesn't always go that way) over Heikki bringing home 4th.

i would want them both up there. - and a while back that was the case. there were a few races where heiki performed better than his teammate.
anyway this is going nowhere really. - going to bed ... have a good day or night guys

cheers

Your post is factually incorrect the only race in which Hekki out did lewis was China but that was because lewis was being to aggressive in the wet.

Japan and Brazil are perfect examples where Hekki is out of the points Lewis is 3rd He's average driver and does not deserve to drive for top team like Mclaren.

Thats not unequal treatment its just that Hekki is not good enough.

I suppose McLaren stitched up Kovalainen today on the reliability front again.

Just to put a spin on the child comments. if you had one child that did really well and one not so would you not give the "kovy" one more help to getting him up to level ie like extra lessons or new car parts to bring him up to speed.

it would bring the lesser child more confidence and get him motivated

To give yet another spin....

If I had one child who excelled in exams and academia, id praise and encourage him for it. If my other child did not excel in this area i would not give him false praise, children are not stupid just becuase they dont shine in exams. I'd find an area my second child did shine at(maybe football, maybe dancing, maybe art) and I'd give him/her equal praise and encouragement for that.

I believe Kovi is interested in bird watching..no really...he is!!!

I guess my response to all this is, like, is this actually news? I thought we'd all figured this out some time ago.

Explain.

Well Kovi is no world-beater, so it was kinda already generally accepted Lewis was the team's focus.

I disagree.

A bit of sour grapes from Heiki I think. Historically Maclaren, since the very beginning, have always treated both their drivers in an even-handed way. Nothing has changed because its their philosophy, and part of the teams DNA. What is more, the whole point of two cars per team is to score maximum points at each race, and no team would not do anything to jeopardise that...
