To cut a long story short; a lot of Irishmen/women died because they couldn't eat the potatoes that local people relied on for sustenance because the potatoes carried disease. That's my understanding from my history lessons back in the late 80s. My memory is a little hazy so my recollection could be a little wayward.

Yeah, i agree about the Simpsons, although there are good episodes up to about season 12 i think... they've let it go on too long now, but back in the day it was the best!

I don't see why this thread can't stay open, the other one is more specific to jokes rather than anything funny.
