Here's something I posted on another forum: (Not another Formula One forum. I wouldn't sell out!
)
As a long-standing Formula One fan, I've become slightly disillusioned with the sport. Politics have always been a factor in Formula One: personal grudges, commerce, Ferrari's will have all got in the way of sport. This season has taken it to a new low. What's the point of a competition only Ferrari are allowed to win? What is needed is a total revamp of the FIA: more accountability, as politicians and businessmen can get away with what they want; consistency, as teams have been punished for something another team was no; and a legal system for rules have been manipulated and invented over the last lot of years to aid Ferrari.
Coming out of the Schumacher era, with some good young drivers, what we were looking forward to was more competition and close racing. However, the sport has again been tarnished, this time with politics, business and vendettas. Not how it was meant to be, or what it needed.
