I went up to Beaulieu Motor Museum yesterday and for anyone who hasn't been, it's most definitely worth a look  They have a lot of old F1 cars there which are lovely (apologies for the cruddy pics...these were taken with my diddy camera. I do have some decent shots with my Canon but haven't taken them off the camera yet, including one of DC's McLarens.)

One of my favourite ever Ferraris:

And I couldn't leave out my favourite car manufacturer, Morgan:

It's an awesome place. I was astounded at how HUGE some of the land-speed-record cars of old were. There are also some little booths with interesting technical information such as the evolution of spark plugs (I know that really doesn't sound overly enthralling ;) ). Naturally, there's also a lot of other non-F1 motoring memorabilia, all in absolutely immaculate condition. You can spend a good few hours gawking :) There is also a monastery ruin in the grounds which is well-worth having a look at.

Yeah but Prosts car is the mp4/5 and should have Marlboro written down the side.So the picture cannot be used in evidence against the diffendant. :hehe:

I wish I had a local motor museum like that around here. I could offer 'off duty' security aswell as cleaning as I would be having to constantly clean my drool off the cars :hehe: .

Maybe they could only get hold of the non-tobacco sponsorship cars, it's most likely that particular car will have been used at either Paul Ricard, Silverstone or Hockenheim. :)

Great pictures Selcouth, particularly like the picture of Damon's FW18.

Wow awesome pictures SF. What year is that Lotus?

I didn't actually see any information on the car as I was walking around, however the Beaulieu website says:

With sponsorship taking such an important part in motor racing, it was not surprising that the Lotus appeared as the John Player Special rather than a Lotus 78.

A whole new brand of cigarettes was named after the car and the colour scheme reflected this.

With this car, Gunnar Nilsson won the 1977 Belgian Grand Prix, and Ronnie Peterson won the 1978 South African Grand Prix.
