Isnt it a bigger insult to you brits that Juan Pablo Montoya is ranked higher than Damon Hill??? I never liked Damon Hill but I do know he is a better driver than montoya. Montoya pussed out and quit because the couldnt handle F1. There is no way in hell he should be on the list. The writer is crap. Senna should be #1

Right so here is what i think the list should look like

There are some weird placings in mine that reflect my personal preference of pure speed as a driving attribute. Drivers who have contributed to F1 in a greater sense have placings that are higher than their driving ability in isolation might merit. This includes drivers who have contributed to safety developments and also those who have played a leading role in the running of a team. Drivers who have overcome extreme adversity also receive elevated placings as well as drivers who were regarded particularly highly by their contemporaries.

1. Michael Schumacher
2. Jackie Stewart
3. Jim Clark
4. Ayrton Senna
5. Alain Prost
6. Juan Manuel Fangio
7. Niki Lauda
8. Stirling Moss
9. Gilles Villeneuve
10. Alberto Ascari
11. Jack Brabham
12. Fernando Alonso
13. Jochen Rindt
14. Ronnie Peterson
15. Kimi Räikkönen
16. Mika Häkkinen
17. Lewis Hamilton
18. Nigel Mansell
19. Keke Rosberg
20. Dan Gurney
21. Emerson Fittipaldi
22. Graham Hill
23. Nelson Piquet
24. Pedro Rodríguez
25. James Hunt
26. Jacky Ickx
27. Mike Hawthorn
28. Denny Hulme
29. Mario Andretti
30. Sebastian Vettel
31. Peter Collins
32. John Surtees
33. Tony Brooks
34. François Cevert
35. Bruce McLaren
36. Jody Scheckter
37. Chris Amon

I really wonder who was the one who came up with that list, and what the rationale was. Cause I really don't agree with it. I'd rank Schumi as the all-time top F1 driver, for a start. I don't think anyone's been able to match his record haul of 91 grand prix. That is definitely a stunning achievement! Even though I'm not a Ferrari fan, I have a lot of respect for his brilliance.

Most interesting thing about this list for me is in Spanish, British translates as Inglaterra (English)

Small correction; it actually means England. English is ingles.

My favorite is Finland: Finlandia!! Haha who'd a thunk it.

Ok but my point was you have Scottish guys being labelled English

Ya that is a bit odd. Its probably because of the common misconception (happens a lot here in the states) that England and the United Kingdom are the same (Scots and Welsh being considered English).

Yep - I hadn't noticed that, but the spanish don't really recognise the difference between 'England' and the 'United Kingdom'.

that list is random.

Lewis Hamilton 22 Kimi 13th?

Jenson 16th

Mika is too low also Alonso 8th?

Yeh don't agree with that.

Mhm.

I mean, I agree with Kimi being ahead of Lewis, but their positions in the list wouldn't be like that if I wrote it. These lists are usually the opinion of only one person and, thus, largely pointless for publishing.

To be fair Kimi and Lewis have been in pretty equal cars this season and Lewis is ahead. - only just tho

Don't think Jenson's better than LH tho.

You'd base your list on one year's performance? You have to remember that McLaren have been developing their car nearly every race. Ferrari stopped development pretty much mid-season and Raikkonen won a race after that. Looking at it from a wider angle, I would place Raikkonen ahead because of what he achieved. He got in to Formula One after something like twenty career car races in total and was instantly fast. He is most likely the outright fastest driver in F1, although he isn't the best. I'd probably put him a place ahead of Lewis.

You have a good arguement, Kimi has been around longer and has generally performed well. Lewis has always performed well in a bad and good car but needs longer to see if this trend continues(I think it will of course  ) They are very close and it will be great if we get to see them race in the same car.
You mention not basing the list on one year. I think the guy writing the list might have done that when he put Button 16th!

Mhm, I completely agree, it's a silly list! Hamilton's trend probably will continue and it would be awesome to see him and Raikkonen in the same team battling for the title next year.

A lot of that list gets on my nerves, really. For example, I rate Coulthard, Barrichello, Massa, Montoya and Damon Hill more highly than Jacques Villeneuve, but they're all below him on that list. >.<
