Isn't the Toro Rosso chassis practically Red Bull's earlier form now?

It is, but when Toro Rosso get their chassis it's just the Red Bull chassis modified so that the Ferrari engine will fit in it. Newey designs the whole car around the Renault engine.

That's a good point actually.

All this could be blown out of the window come testing ,but what is everyone elses thoughts ? (maybe i'm just being negative? )

Based on the form in the latter part of the 2009 season, I actually see the title as a two-horse race between Ferrari and McLaren. Red Bull will be the dark horses and may be able to spring a surprise. Brawn, I don't think they can do it again - they really faded out after the first 6 races when the strong teams caught up to them. Perhaps it will be a fourth place finish for them.

I think that we will probably have an even fight between McLaren, Ferrari, Brawn and Red Bull. I expect Ross Brawn to create another amazing car but won't have the massive advantage of the double diffuser, I definitely think it will be a "big four" next season, can't see Williams or Renault coming up with a car to regular compete with the teams mentioned above. I would have a bet on Force India leapfrogging Williams, Renault and Toyota next season!

People are overrating McLaren slightly. Because the 2009 car has been so poor, the teams are already a step behind some of their rivals, such as Red Bull and Brawn, in terms of continuing to developing the car. Also, as Ewan reminded me yesterday, people are quick to forget that part of the reason for McLaren's improved fortune at the moment have been down to KERS and Hamilton. Furthermore, at McLaren, there is a bit of compromise culture, so afraid are the team of being penalised by the FIA. Remember, they are still racing under a suspended sentence and the full gaze of Mosley and his acolytes. This is hardly ideal when you are trying to eek out crucial tenths and seconds from your car on the track. Finally, I'm not convinced whether or not McLaren have a truly innovative designer. For instance, the team missed a trick this season with the double diffuser and it's not as if McLaren's cars in recent years have been fast straight away. They've tended to need some further development and fine tuning. Personally, I would not be surprised to see McLaren battling for the title next season, but there is also plenty of potential to see the team lurking around the top of the grid, but not quite having the edge to win both titles. I just want to see (and expect) a big improvement on this year's performances.

Of course to do that, you need two great drivers, not one... :(

For 2010 I don't care who is fighting, just that it's exciting.

redbull has been a really great team. i wouldnt sleep on them if they actually hold a strong finish for next year. Vettel with a lil more experience now, and if webber stops having bad luck.

Campos and USf1 will be back markers if they get rookie drivers, along with renault even if they have kubica. Force india maybe mid field finishes.

why don't we just have a Lewis Hamilton board so the rest of us can avoid him cropping up everywhere (in postive and negative terms) and talk about other stuff.

the lewis fanclub should have their own password protected thread so they alone allowed access to it. That way they can all honour their lil god without interference from others.
