Signed up to F1 for three years, but rumours
persist the team may be sold
Speculation regarding the future of the Renault F1 team refuses to go away may despite the recent signing of Robert Kubica to lead the squad next season.

It is now reported that the French car-maker may be considering the sale of its Enstone-based team but staying on the grid as an engine supplier only. That is according to the Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell, while naming two prospective buyers for the French carmaker's team.

One buyer was identified as Gerard Lopez, co-founder of venture capital firm Mangrove, and the other a Russian by the name of Andrej Krajnik, who is linked with the existing Renault sponsor Megafon.

F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone told the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper before leaving Brazil last weekend that he "just talked to a guy who wants to buy one of the teams."

Kubica himself said he is wary of manufacturer teams, the irony if they pull out before he even gets a drive

I don't believe that Renault will be signing big name drivers if they had already decided to pull out as they will probably have to pay up Kubica's contract!

I think if Renault are planning to leave they'll be at least trying to ensure there's a buyer first ready to step in immediately.

I think i agree with you. Although there is the small chance that Renault signed him just so that they are in a better position to sell (and for more money too)...

And people still criticize Max for giving Renault only a two year suspended ban!!!!
Don't you think that if he had hit them hard, they would still be in F1?

But the story going round is that the penalty was so lenient because they agreed to stay - if they depart after that, it would be a farce

Yup there is too much to loose for Motorsport if Renault pulls out.

Renault will be in F1 next year, after everything they have been through they would not throw the towel in now.

I hope they stay around we could do without another manufacturer leaving the sport. Any ideas who will partner Kubica providing they stick around???

Im hoping its going to be Senna(but i think Renault are tired of taking new drivers on) or Glock.

It's more than Formula One, you have to remember the other key series which Renault are part of.
