Very often, historical precedents are meaningless, unless the causes of them are pretty similar. Sure, both Hakkinen and Button had poor cars for many years before they got ones capable of winning the title, but Hakkinen is just a better driver than Button can ever dream to be. Whereas Button has already overachieved, Hakkinen very much underachieved.

A bit harsh :D

And almost completely subjective.

No, it's not.

How so? They have never raced against each other in comparable cars. So, there's no empirical evidence, therefore your opinion is subjective. Simples... :D:hehe:

How so? They have never raced against each other, let alone in comparable cars. So, there's no empirical evidence, therefore your opinion is subjective. Simples... :D:hehe:

Wrong.

By the way, Andrew Benson has done a really good piece on Brawn GP:

If I had the power to control Bernie's mind I'd give the British GP to Croft, and then that would really cheese off those moaners up there who made complaints about noise levels.:twisted::twisted:

Plus I wouldn't have far to go either. :D

Haha
Cheese off those that complain about the facilities as well!

Well seeing that Bernie is the one who moans about facilities the most the first thing he'll be saying is "why have I brought us up to this dump?". :hehe:

That'll do

Ok, so Piers Morgan is a bit of a tosser, but this article has some nice stuff...

Might just me but that article is a little economical with the truth - it is the mail after all though.

But it also takes a few snipes at Lewis Hamilton?

With the laughing as he lapped him thing?

By 'nice stuff', I meant the insights into JB and the way he approached the Honda/Brawn affair... The rest is typical Daily Mail fodder...

:hehe: Yeah i suppose i forgot the golden rule when it comes to the Daily Mail, but the bit about 'something came up!' was funny.

:hehe: Maybe so, or perhaps it was an ironic laugh after Hamilton's well-publicised 'monkeys at the back' comment.

Of course, it is most likely that it was neither!

I don't think Jenson was taking a snipe at Lewis Hamilton, I think he was just laughing at the way the tables had turned in his favour. One season he was being lapped by Lewis and finishing at the back, now it was the other way round. No malace intended. Most Daily Mail readers wouldn't have got the irony however, so a risky move on their part... :)
