his car has not been a mobile chicane for all of the season, and his opposition has been poor.

What if the Brawn had a mobile chicane driver in it like Piquet or even... our favourite? :hehe:

Very often, historical precedents are meaningless, unless the causes of them are pretty similar. Sure, both Hakkinen and Button had poor cars for many years before they got ones capable of winning the title, but Hakkinen is just a better driver than Button can ever dream to be. Whereas Button has already overachieved, Hakkinen very much underachieved.

A bit harsh :D

Just looking at the list of British world champions and it seems that no Briton has won the title back to back, could Jenson manage to be the first? It seems to happen that way sometimes, Mika Hakkinen went seven years before he won his first world championship then went on to become double world champion!

To be fair we have had three different winners in a row, then again another two in a row twice.Add to that D.Hill and Mansell s*** on by williams, the fact Jim Clark remained loyal to one team and that just about covers all our champions :hehe:

The fact we have had more than triple the amount of champions than any other nation aswell :D

And almost completely subjective.

Is that really unsurprising though given the emphasis placed on the Motor Sport Valley within this country?

And STILL we only get one GP  Maybe not even that!! If a certain greedy little man gets his way.

We can hardly afford one Grand Prix. And none of the circuits in this country, bar Silverstone, could stage modern day F1 without massive redevelopment and financial input.

If I had the power to control Bernie's mind I'd give the British GP to Croft, and then that would really cheese off those moaners up there who made complaints about noise levels.:twisted::twisted:

Plus I wouldn't have far to go either. :D

Hmm thats a good point maybe we could put major financial backing into a 2nd track, let me think........Donington perhaps :hehe:

You have to look at British motorsport and argue that despite the amount of new feeder series, it is still very strong and appeals to many young drivers.
The F3 series for example still continues to produce many great drivers.

In terms of track layout, Britain has a number of great circuits and is the heartland of much of motorsport.

So its not surprising, given the quality of series, that Britain produces a number of good drivers.

Cheese off those that complain about the facilities as well!

Well seeing that Bernie is the one who moans about facilities the most the first thing he'll be saying is "why have I brought us up to this dump?". :hehe:
