I don't stoop so low as to use the so-called "race card".

Not trying to push any buttons. I never troll. But I see a lot of crap thrown at the Hamiltons regardless of what they do, and that's something I haven't seen done to any other drivers and family. And I still need to see anything that deserves such a mean treatment from F1 fans.

I'm really starting to think that the hate directed towards the Hamiltons is passive-aggressive racism. Seriously.

I hope that is not the case as it would be very sad if true. Anywho let's drop the racism aspect right here and now before it gets out of hand.

Yeah. I think some posters are just trying to push the buttons of others, it's all in good fun.

:banghead: that one wasn't fun at all

ya .. I look at the fact that so many of em actually hates MS and that card not thrown at him. makes you wonder since we talking about the same fanclub.

I was referring to soctty's push button thing, on a thread about button, awful pun.

back on topic - those are some interesting parallels, but there are many more differences.

Haha, i didn't consider that really, but rest assured if i was actually trying to make a pun as lame as that i'd have said "pun most definitely intended". :whip:

There is nothing fun about racism or even the mention of it, forum rules must be followed by all 'We operate a zero tolerance approach to racism'. Now with that being said we can get back to the topic under discussion right? :)

Right! Surely everyone would hope that goes without saying anyway - god help anyone who tries that kind of stunt here. You don't need to quote forum rules at me though.

I think the biggest thing that hit me yesterday and it has cemented how much I have started to dislike someone.

When Jenson and his dad where hugging and crying, they did not car the world was watching and I think everyone knows how much it means for any driver to win the WDC and was happy for the whole Button family.

Go back 12 months and you have Ant Hamilton say "go away this is a private moment and Lewis does not want anyone watching" to that waiting cameras.

Was that just after Ted Kravitz had grabbed Lewis?

I think some people just see how good he is and can't accept that, he was better than Alonso in his rookie year then won title over Massa next year and in 2010 if he has a considerably good car, he's going to win the title. Mark my words. And yes, I'm not kidding

But in some cases, racism can be the issue too. Which is just unbelieveble

I agree, he's just in the marmite category with the likes of Schumacher. Granted to Lewis though, unlike some others he really hasn't done much to upset anyone.

I think it was during the post race interview with Ham or the red button interview with Ham, someone must have threw something at him during the interview.

They probably heard Rubens had that puncture because he made contact with Ham's front wing.

Just because I'm British doesn't mean I have to support Button and it certainly doesn't mean that I should excessively praise him when I feel he doesn't deserve it. If someone is a great driver then I'll recognise that and commend them accordingly, if they're not then I won't. That principle stands whatever nation or team they happen to be from.
