Finally a British WDC that truely deserves the title.

how bloody disrespectful are you to the other 9 British champions

Maybe FJuan is a young fan that hasn't seen the great British drivers in action as before Lewis Hamilton it was 11 years since the last British world champion!

even if he just meant Lewis that is still a pathetic comment to make! Im sick of F1 "fans" who talk that kind of s***. Just because you dont like a certain driver doesnt give you the right to say he didnt deserve a title. I dont like Alonso all that much but i wouldnt say he didnt deserve his titles. Its pathetic!!! :censored:

No.
Schumacher didn't deserve his titles.

Only messing
Very happy for Jenson!!

Okay can not say I am overly ecstatic that Jenson won to be honest, I would have loved it to have gone down to the wire but sure... Roll on next year and Hamilton WILL BE WORLD CHAMPION AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Well done Jenson, enjoy your sucess, because you will only be world drivers champion once hee hee lol :clap:

Yes I am bitter butttt sureeee :director:

The champion. But not a champion.

It's a moot point. There have been plenty of better champions, but there's been worse too.

Has there been? Apart from the possible exception of Hawthorn, I can't think of any.

Congrats, Jenson. It was a great performance in Brazil from you. :)

(Though I can't help thinking that it was written in the stars for Jenson to win the title - he got quite a few lucky breaks in the second half of the season when he wasn't performing).

May have been but these stats show a great deal of consistancy compared to Rubens and Vettel:

Jenson Button
Wins: 6
2nd places: 1
3rd places: 1
Total podiums: 8
Points Scoring Positions: 7
Total point scoring races: 15

Rubens Barrichello
Wins: 2
2nd places: 3
3rd Places: 1
Total podiums: 6
Points scoring positions: 8
Total Points scoring races: 14

Sebastian Vettel
Wins: 3
2nd places: 2
3rd places: 2
Total Podiums: 7
Points Scoring Positions 4
Total Points scoring races 11

Button scored more podium places then either of his closes rivals, more wins than both combined and finished in the points more times than either of them. Consistancy was Buttons biggest weapon and he used it to its fullest effect

The world of Formula 1 has paid tribute to Brawn GP's Jenson Button as the Englishman won the 2009 world drivers' championship in Brazil.

:P Not to sound bitter or open up a debate, but what happened to him being British?:hehe:

He won the World Championship.

For example DC is Scottish because he never won the wdc but if he did he would of been British. :P

To be honest, I use British and English interchangeably, although I know I shouldn't. If it's any consolation I'll happily claim DC as a brit.
