Stealthgate,
Man I would love to have one of those XR4Ti's. Years back I read an article about some tuner that built one with over 400whp and over 400ftlb's at the wheels with simple bolt-on's. I would really like to have one of the Cosworth models from the euro market.

Yeh i just googled that Merkur XR4Ti looks like a Ford Sierra cosworth.

Must be built under licence from ford europe?

They are ledgendary cars.

The Merkur was such a sleeper car. It felt like an early 80's BMW on the inside, with all the appointments. The turbo made the thing feel like a spaceship going to warp. If I knew then what I know now, I would have still had that car. Its was fantastic to drive. Chicks would be, "Is that some type of Saab or something?" The car was just an unknown where I was from.

Only had 3 cars prior to this one.

I love big cars. I'm seriously tempted by a Land Rover Defender, complete with periscope :)

OK, so we've had what car you'd like as your next car, and what you currently drive...so how about a thread on your car history?

silvery-bluish (forget the color's name) 1988 Plymouth Voyager (hand-me-down)
white 1994 Chevy Cavalier (hand-me-down)
metallic green 1998 Ford Ranger XLT
purple 2000 Dodge Neon (for my wife)

I've got to stop reading these kinds of topics. They remind me how much I need to get a car!

Some good histories on display here.
