I built a Nissan model 300ZX and it took me ages to fathom out how all the engine went together!

Yes, well, rather, I did as a younger person. I have done a few dozen but I haven't done one in about a decade because of time, and the increasing responsibilities of parenthood and home ownership, and space. Mostly 1/24 road cars, a couple 1/18, increasing in difficulty as I grew. I should snap pics. Muscle cars and exotics and such. I have not done an F1 car. I did buy a few but after a few years sitting I ebayed them. I made a lot of money on a Tamiya 93 Senna McLaren. I have a 97 Williams that I will not sell because it is a gift from Mrs Madbrad, so I guess I will build it, if I ever get time. Or just keep it til I'm old, for sentimental value.

I agree, with so little time between life's responsibilties it's hard to find free time, heck my RE20 model has been waiting for 23yr's :cry: . I would enjoy seeing some pic's of what you have built when you have the time madbrad.

Whoa man that is an Exoto one of the best die-cast cars factory! their models are simply wonderful!

I love model building, it took me 2 weeks to do the 2005 subaru impreza, quite good, i've just had a few problems with the side decals, i built also the F1-2000,the F-2001, the Ferrari 512 BB, now i'm on the 91 Lancia Delta... i'll post some pics..

Well after speaking with an experienced modeler he has suggested to 'cut my teeth' so to speak with the 1/20th scale F2001. My Renault model is way to rare and intricate for a first timer, I payed $75 back in '84 for it and it's now valued at around $150!!

Pic's of the model I will soon be building:

If anyone wants to build me a model of the 2007 McLaren driven by Hamilton, I would be happy to display it on my office desk at work - lots of people come in my office and it would be a great way of getting public recognition for your work....

RD,
As I was watching practice yesterday and watching the McLaren's I said to myself "Self you gotta build one of those because they are simply BEAUTIFUL referring to the McLaren of course.
I agree they are museum quality machine's. I'm a newbie to the hobby but after I get a few 'practice' models built I would be more than happy to build one for you
