If F1 does go to Silverstone next year, which it's looking less and less likely that it will, then they better allow the cars to take the GP circuit. The Moto GP circuit is pretty dodgy looking.

They will be doing. The new circuit is designed for two wheels

I doubt the new circuit will even be built.

Bernard is claiming that he hasn't given them the deadline - that the 2 weeks is part of the contract breach proceedure.

From F1 Live:

Bernie Ecclestone has issued yet another deadline to Simon Gillett, despite the Donington boss breaching the contract to host next year's British Grand Prix by not coming up with the money for the track refurbishments in time.

After a discussion with Gillett on Monday, F1 chief executive Ecclestone told British media that Donington has two more weeks to remedy the contract breach.

At the same time, the 78-year-old Briton vowed to kick off talks with alternative venue Silverstone about the 2010 event, and seemed open to BRDC president Damon Hill's requirement of more than a one-race deal.

"Donington are in breach of contract and they have 14 days to remedy that breach," Ecclestone told the Guardian newspaper. "We have an agreement with Silverstone that in the event of a breach we will talk to them and we will be discussing this.

"Of course it is no good for them having a one-year job, for sure," he added, explaining that the track will have the opportunity of "exactly the same contract as Donington."

In the Financial Times, Ecclestone cautioned he cannot enter an agreement with Silverstone until the other Donington contract is invalid.

In a media statement, Donington's Gillett confirmed the new two-week deadline, beginning on Monday.

Maybe it will be no Donny, and Silverstone, no British GP it is dropped from the calendar and Bernie has got what he wanted and the ability to blame it on someone else

Well why's he talking to Silverstone then and saying they
will have the same contract as Donnington? Surely he'd be trying to wriggle out already.(I'll admit, when it first went to Donnington my thoughts were yours exactly-maybe im just trying to be optimistic)

Yes I guess. He will be below my lowest opinion of him if he does that!!!But then this is Bernie

Bernie should be tried for treason if the British GP doesn't go ahead.
