Divide by 100 and then X whatever?

yeah easy way is to think is % means /100

which is the translation of the word: 'per centum' Latin for 'per 100'

while most people cant count to 100 a very good percentage can speak Latin.

Unfortunately Latin almost always equals pre Darwinian teaching.

while I respect dead languages its hard to teach both Latin and the truth.
At least this is my experience.

but its the basis for many words in European languages, would give you a better understanding of what youre actually saying. As DD has pointed out, i bet no one would have even known.

How do i do percentages on a calculator? I need to do some number crunching for school and I dont know what to press Doesnt seem to work whatever i try. I hate`maths!!

This I think is the main issue, not "what buttons do I press" but "why should I need buttons" .

When learning is reduced to "how proficient are you at using the internet as learning tool" I get quite upset.

If you want to know what 24% of 60 is, divide 60 by 100 and multiply the answer by 24... i think!
