F1 regulations state: "The safety car shall be used at least until the leader is behind it and all remaining cars are lined up behind him.

"Once behind the safety car, the race leader must keep within five car lengths of it."

LOL Why am I not surprised. , Ferrari won the Constructors championship by dubious means, now they are after winning the drivers championship the same way, shame they cant do these things on merit. Mind you I guess uncle max has to help his favourite team somehow, at the same time helping his lap dog alonso. wonder how much webber got paid to make that accusation, must have cost ferrari a few pounds, alonso probably chipped in as well. This season has become a total farce. It was bad enpugh before, but then we should have seen this coming. Max has been looking for a chance to ruin hamiltpn s season along with mclaren., and now his chance. Hamilton stands no chavce of a fair hearing from the ferrari biased WMSC

Seems to me that if they all thought Hamilton was too close to the safety car they themselves should have backed off - no evidence as far as I can see that they were any more respobnsible!!! Whole season as you say is a total farce - and all seem to be out to stop Hamilton from winning title - obviously his talent has scared them all!!!

the track conditions were really bad, when the safty car brakes it stopped, f1 cars aqua plane due to the way they are designed especially at slow speeds. therefore its impossible. upprised they investigating it tbh. and hammy did say that he was fed up of dirty tactics used by others. so maybe just a bit of there own medicine.

Also notice how good friends Webber and Alonso are, and they both whinge like babies.

I dont consider Mark Webber to be a whinger at all, anytime he has something negative to say its normally thought out and justified.

Hes obviously emphasising this one so much because the race finish would have meant alot to him and its not hard for people to do the right thing behind the safety car.

The accident has attracted alot of attention (a bit of youtube poo and alot of forum talk) but its useless having a discussion about it. Lewis' behaviour was erratic and Vettels was amateur.

well weber could have always left a bit more space, he knew roughly when the safety car was going to be in, under the conditions it would have been stupid to get close to the car in front. i think he was warming his brakes up just as vettel was warming his tyres and they met in the middle.

Exactly - they are all classed as grown men and professionals in their sport - they should all take equal responsibility for causing such a stupid incident to happen in the first place!!

Once again discussion about it tends to lead nowhere ... check out the youtube video though, theres a link to it in a forum around here somewhere and watch it over a good couple of times.

I hadn't seen that up until now but seriously, what the f*ck what Hamilton playing at??? I can't believe that. No-one can watch that and not say his driving was weird and just downright irresponsible. He went over the 5 car lengths limit behind the SC just by slowing down and taking the outside line...what the hell? I don't think Webber's crash was his fault as Vettel shouldn't have let it distract him but still - anyone normal would look at that in disbelief - like Vettel said - he though Hamilton was retiring he slowed down that much. It looks like his car failed but then he sped up again. No wonder Webber is pissed :!:

Hi, I have watched the YouTube video and maybe the safety car should be made accountable too - he was the first to brake!! Like you say a conversation going nowhere!! The FIA will no doubt make their decision in plenty of time before this weekends race - but the only thing for sure - it's been a farcical season dominated by back-stabbing and scandal!

Mark Webber is a useless, driver Hamilton haven't done anything wrong he just jealous. If Lewis is penalize, I won't be watching f1 again. Mark is a whinger and he stated he wanted Alonso to win.

I don't think the safety car braked. Only looks that way because of the camera angle. And even if it did it's on a bend - hardly unfeasable is it?? It braked nowhere near hard enough to cause Lewis to go so wide & slow.
