Dennis will keep Alonso as long as he is doing the job, regardless if its for himself and not the team. As much as I can't stand Alonso, having him around could be handy as he technically astute and has experience. Taking £50 million off Alonso and then spending a lot of it on the fine and some of on some of the young talent we have in Formula One at the minute is tempting, however, I think they're a little inexperiened just yet.

There's a couple of Alonso's now in the Premiership, there's one playing for Bolton, and if Flavio signed Fernando for QPR and got them promoted (something the Blades aren't going to do under the useless Bryan Robson) there'd be another one to add to the collection.

One thing to note McLaren told Hamilton to slow down earlier in the season not Alonso.

Hmm yeah but didn't Hamilton get the hump with it and stop following that sort of instruction?

I would like it if he went back to Renault, be interesting to see the competition between him & Hamilton when they're not on the same team, it's bad enough now!

Problem is, I don't see Renault strong enough to compete on the top. Ferrari, yes. Maybe even BMW. But he'll not end up in any of those.

Now... there's a rumour that Prodrive might end with exactly same car and engine like McLaren... thus RD can separate his lead drivers into 2 equally capable teams. Now that would be nice...
