Massa would be better off waiting until next year when he can get a full programme of pre-season testing behind him.

If he was to make any comeback at all this season it would have been better off at Interlagos rather than Abu Dhabi.

Yeah and there would be more glory there.

No. they need all the points they can get for the WCC if they have any hope of retaining 3rd place. They wont get that with Fisi and a questionably unfit Massa.

3rd isn't 1st. And isn't 1st isn't good enough for Ferrari, regardless of whether that's 2nd or 6th. It's been a bad year, move on and stop worrying about the small things.

There is far larger share of the cash for 3rd place. while I agree that money isn't everything and this is especially true for Ferrari they will be fighting for every point they can get.

Plus there is also pit lane order to think about.

But they are the small things. There's far more to gain from focusing on next year whenever possible.

I agree. so why would they mess around with driver line up for the last few races this year?

They will stick with what they have for now and hope Kimi keeps driving well.

Most likely, but if Massa wants to get a race under his belt to prove to himself he's the same guy, then they've nothing to lose from giving it to him.

Its a big if. I know these guys are all super fit and Massa has stated "We'll see for Abu Dhabi, we'll need the FIA's authorization. It depends on this test [with the F2007]."

But would they replace Massa for Kimi or Fisi?

Fisichella. He's employed for 2009 as a fill in. He's employed from 2010 as reserve driver, he's gotta get used to it.

So far I had assumed that he would come back and replace fisi, but what if he is actually going to replace. Kimi!?!?

Would Ferrari do that to Kimi? would it mean that Ferrari would impare there team line up? if so why? I suppose they have not made the most rational of driver decissions this year.

So could we see a Massa Fisi line up?

That was my point the whole time :)

But for different reasons :)

It's understandable that Massa wants to get back racing as soon as possible, but he will have to be restrained by somebody. There is really no point in him coming back, especially saying as he won't be back for his home Grand Prix.

There is. The guy nearly died. If he has any doubts, regardless of the front he shows, then using Abu Dhabi as practice will help his preparation for 2010.

What doubts? If he puts in a sloppy performance in Abu Dhabi, having been away for months, would he not have more doubts? I still maintain that Massa is better ensuring his health is 100% and getting back into things over the winter with much less pressure and more time.
