The proper wet racing line on a track is actually off the racing line. Where the rubber thats built up on the racing line its actually better to be off it where there is no rubber build up and there is better grip for the wet tyres.

Watch the race again and watch Alonso, he has the best line in the wet, Fernando's line through corners its a classic karting wet racing line! Even in Hungary last year he was the only one I could see racing the wet properly!

Hamilton went wide to get out of the spray of the safety car, the guys behind him should have kept a larger gap in those conditions! they werent racing they had nothing to gain from being so close!

Couldn't agree more Bud, Hamilton also looked as though he was backing off to straightline the corner and warm his tyres on the exit.

Webber shouldn't have come alongside him, and Vettel shouldn't have hit him. I suppose had Hamilton not been off the racing line, Webber may have stayed back and Vettel wouldn't have been watching Lewis when he ploughed into the Red Bull - just one of those things I suppose.

Hamilton wasn't "brake-dancing". Was the pace car "brake-dancing", the driver applied his brakes on the apex of the corner? Pace car slowed, Hamilton slowed. Everything that Hamilton did was perfectly legal and, as far as I am aware, it has always been primarily the responsibility of the FOLLOWING driver to avoid colliding with the car in front of him. If Hamilton avoided colliding with the pace car and Webber avoided colliding with both Hamilton and the pace car and Vettel collided with Webber, whose fault is it?

A: The pace car's.
B: Hamilton's
C: Weber's
D: Vettel's


Seems to me that Vettel's inexperience caused not only his own misfortune but also that of Weber. This opinion was eloquently confirmed by Weber's own testimony on where the fault lay shortly after the event.

The Hamilton witch-hunt has now entered the Monty Python stage of abject and willful stupidity. For God's sake, it's pouring with rain, Hamilton is the lead car, he's following the pace car. The rules state that there is no overtaking. He avoids doing so by taking the outside line. In the meantime, Weber is worried about Vettel being too close. He sees he's closing on the pace car and as good as past Hamilton... he has no option but to brake and pray that Vettel is paying attention. Unfortunately Vettel isn't.

The lead driver takes his pace from the pace car and each subsequent driver in turn takes their pace from the driver in front of him. It's not exactly rocket science!

I think behind the safety car all drivers should act sensibly and just follow the safety car and dont do any fancy break testing and trying to catch other drivers off guard and making them accidently overtake them and get penalised. Lewis did this to Alonso in the first SC session then webber in the 2nd. I just think its unfair and there should be a respect for you fellow drivers which lewis has shown all season that he has not got.

Indeed, so the leading driver should take things nice and easy and allow the second-place driver to remain in his slipstream and drill him at the next corner. This applies to the other cars as well. Sorry, I don't see why drivers should have to suffer increased risk of the losing their position at the restart. Furthermore, I've seen noted drivers such as Senna, Schumacher and Alonso try the same. It's a part of motoracing which, although not ideal, can't really be changed.

Leading drivers have used brake testing tactics, not only to keep their brakes warm, but especially on the sector prior to the pace car leaving the track, since pace cars were invented. Every driver has done it, suddenly it should be illegal... WHY? Ferrari's beloved Schumacher did it to great effect as did all the others to a greater or lesser degree. At no time in the past has anyone even thought to express the opinion that it is unfair. Why? Because it is common practice! When cars are on the formation lap they weave from side to side, to heat the tyres, they also brake test, specifically to heat up the brakes. What is the difference behind the pace car? Tyre temperatures and brake temperatures drop behind the pace car. To not do everything possible to keep heat in the tyres and the brakes would be dangerous on the restart of racing conditions. For God's sake grow up and quit your whining!

Vettel / Webber cost their own accident, didn’t Vettel hit Alonso, why isn’t anyone talking about this? Lewis in my opinion was to close to the safety car, he was backing away from the safety car.
Vettel and Webber were far to close. I don’t even know why this was mention. I watched it live Lewis, did nothing wrong. In my opinion Vettel driven like a rookie and he also hit Alonso car and that made Alonso car weak. Webber car, was Vettel second car he hit.
Lewis driven perfectly this isn’t even a issue it was wet and the cars behave total different I was suprised there was even a race, the best thing was to call of the race.
If Vettel, can’t handle what another driver is doing in front of him he should leave F1. I see him crying like a big baby . Lewis, driven great and Vettel, driven like a rookie Vettel hit 2 cars Alonso and webber which one have mention.

To be fair, he was crying because he made a mistake, blew his weekend, and probably cost himself his first podium. He's held his hand up and well learn from this.
