I remember being able to overtake and be overtaken all the time with early F1 cars. I found it was possible to go right up to the back and then go without any of this nonsence. I drove several types from Alta, Connaught, Vanwall and 250F Mas and none of these car caused problems. I would also say that hanging our tails round corners was much better for the public.
Now I know that a lot was wrong too, but I really did not think that the slower laps spoiled the event. Take ALL of the wings off, that's what I say. It would really sort the men from the boys.
